Rendering realistic materials in Revit is not always very affective. Many materials tend to render with no depth. Here are some tricks I have learned that help create your own materials. All you will need is the following:
To begin you need to figure out what material you are trying to manipulate. You will ne ed to fi nd an image of the texture (material). There are a few sites I have used that can be very effective.
Creating a Bump Map
Adding the textures you created into Revit
Adding the Bump Map you created into Revit
Applying the Material to the object
